An Unwanted Species
An invasive species is typically defined as a plant or animal that causes harm to the environment, the economy, and human health. For hundreds of years, humans have been active in an accidental fashion, as well as in a deliberate manner, to help disperse this type of unwanted character throughout the world. The human-facilitated role in introducing an undesirable element into natural habitats, ecosystems, and society in general ramped up last century and has not ceased to this very day.
Please research examples of invasive species that have popped up around the world, and you will be fascinated.
In 2025, a new type was introduced to the world’s collective effort to understand climate change and how it results in global warming. Our drying planet is heated by the big industrial polluters, and the only solution is a long-term phase-out plan for the oil, gas, and coal contributors in favor of renewable energy sources. When President Pollute (Trump) declared himself “saved by God to make America great again,” many knew he would continue to promote dirty energy, but some thought he would also allow clean energy options to at least be researched and developed for the future. Thus, a required balance of energy sources would be attained in the long run. Instead, he invaded the concept of green energy and began a calculated U-turn on each and every level of climate progress our nation has achieved since the climate crisis established itself. Not only that, he set his sights on weakening industrial chemical emission regulations.
INVASION AGAINST WIND ENERGY
A 2024 report by the American Clean Power Assn. predicted that U.S. offshore wind farms will power up approximately 40 million eastern homes by 2050. New Jersey’s share alone of the federally funded $65 billion investment would be about 2.5 million residences, or two-thirds of the state’s total housing. In total, around 30 utility-scale wind projects were ready to launch along our eastern coastal states. Federal tax credits would be available, no tariffs on turbines, and funding for onshore port facilities necessary for the projects were in the mix.
We were poised to join the global effort!
Until the opposite was thrown at us!
One of President Pollute’s (PP’s) many anti-green energy actions last year included his 1/20/2025 executive order to halt all offshore wind energy leases “due to various alleged legal deficiencies.” The unwanted, invasive masquerade was a cover-up to undercut the prior administration’s efforts to boost offshore wind generation, and it took until May 5, 2025, for a coalition of 17 state attorneys to file a lawsuit to overturn the order. The lawsuit claimed that PP’s action was unlawful, and it put the states’ economy, energy independence, and climate goals at risk. During the impasse, the tax credits were eliminated, tariffs were invoked on turbines, and the port funding was terminated!
It took another seven months for a federal district court judge to announce the right thing to do. On 12/8/2025, it issued a verdict stating the block on wind energy was “arbitrary and capricious” and “contrary to law.” Yay - a win for clean energy and humanity. Sadly, it took nearly a year, immeasurable financial loss, and green unemployment to unravel President Dump’s invasion. Thrilled, the large-scale offshore enterprises resumed construction, and the opportunity to diversify our country’s energy supply with the most affordable grid was within grasp.
Or so they thought…
Until construction came to an abrupt halt.
It took President Pollute only two weeks to once again invade the rights of the wind farm lessees by bringing the Pentagon into the fray after our military supposedly identified emergency national security concerns!
What?
On 12/24/2025, Merry Christmas! PP terminated progress on the five largest wind farm projects pending a review of defense risks that were not defined.
The stall tactic will allow him to again prioritize aging, expensive coal plants, and other forms of filthy energy. Bashing the rule of law, eliminating job security, costing others millions of dollars, and sabotaging another U.S. effort to blend clean energy and dirty energy are what matter to him. As a result, experts predict a 55% decrease in this type of renewable energy development by 2035, and will delay or cancel about $114 billion in such investments. A decade ago, there were no offshore wind farms in the entire USA. To date, only two are completed, and five smaller ones are under construction. All in the east. The critical goal of ten million homes soon benefiting from this type of clean energy has been slashed to bits!
Never give up!
During the first week in January 2026, one of the lessees, and Europe’s premier offshore wind developer, filed a legal action against President Dump’s administration regarding its shameless decision to halt work on its $15 billion undertaking off our northeast coast. Denmark’s Orsted site, known as the Revolution Wind, began nine years ago, cleared all national defense concerns, and was about 90% complete until Dump axed it. Who knows how long the matter will be tied up in court, but you can be sure our European ally believed this approach to be a quicker solution than waiting for the Pentagon’s handcuffs to be unlocked. The cruel, intimidating stall tactic will cause harm to the foundations and turbines currently in place, and will postpone completion for who knows how long.
Compare the above to this: By spring of last year, China had 138 operational offshore wind farms, and the UK? 51! Globally, there are enough such installations to provide the least costly form of electricity to around 73 million households. Incredibly, China is responsible for nearly 75% of all major solar and wind projects under construction across the planet…
A different kind of green energy invasion in those nations!
INVASION AGAINST CLIMATE SCIENCE
When President Pollute announced on January 7, 2026, that he intends to pull the U.S. out of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), our ability to help stabilize the amount of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere was eliminated. He signaled to all nations that he wants nothing to do with preventing human-caused interference with Earth’s natural climate system. Thus, America will soon be isolated from global cooperation in the effort to limit polluting gases. Furthermore, on this disastrous, unwanted occasion, the White House directed the withdrawal from 65 other international organizations, including the UN Water and the UN Oceans collaborative efforts. Thus, PP invaded and terminated our nation’s three decades of support for the world’s longest-standing climate treaty! As weather disasters become more frequent and intense across our nation, his climate brain-dead administration is jumping at every opportunity to abandon all efforts to do anything about it.
It makes no difference to that group of green initiative slayers that, in 2025, 23 horrific weather events, exceeding $1 billion in damages at a total cost of $115B to resurrect, took place. When another top-level anti-climate invader, Secretary of State Rubio, labeled the UNFCCC and other valuable global organizations “anti-American, useless, and wasteful,” please know the highest level of climate propaganda soared. His non-sensical quote certainly rivals PP’s “con job” definition of climate change.
Please know, as long as they are in office, they will continue to invade and undermine decades of climate science advancement. As their unwanted attack on climate action initiatives continues, I wonder if the disaster descriptive vocabulary will evolve one day into Trump wildfires, Rubio floods, Trump droughts, and Rubio heatwaves?
They, the unwanted human species that invaded climate science and climate justice goodness for all, hopefully won’t have to be remembered that way.
But, for that to happen, the rest of the developed nations must continue with a remarkable level of clean energy production in volumes that offset the U.S. leadership’s selfish and unfair emphasis on dirty energy dependence.
Note: I apologize for this negative post. But with so much progress reporting regarding clean energy, now and then, I must remind you about the president’s relentless attack on all the good that is being accomplished by environmental progressives.
Going forward, I pledge to minimize the gloomy updates.
